The route to Stob Bàn (999 m) and Mullach nan Coirean (939 m) from Glen Nevis (Polldubh) is one of the classic Mamores circuits. The ascent begins on good forest and stalker paths leading through woodland before climbing steadily into Coire a’ Mhusgain. The path becomes progressively steeper as it approaches the upper corrie beneath Stob Bàn’s distinctive quartzite north-east face.

From the bealach between Stob Bàn and Sgòr an Iubhair, the route turns onto a steep, short but demanding climb over broken quartzite to reach the summit of Stob Bàn (999 m). The ridge beyond is broad and generally straightforward in good conditions, with undulating ground leading west towards Mullach nan Coirean.

After the second summit, the route descends north-west on a defined ridge line that gradually becomes more grassy and boggy in its lower reaches before rejoining estate tracks in Glen Nevis, returning to Polldubh to complete the circuit. This is a sustained mountain day with steep ascent, exposed ridge sections, and route-finding considerations in poor visibility.
